It depends! If you're entering claim details into your own system, and then emailing or calling us with the details, your system can call our system instead. This eliminates the review of the email or phone call and the time it takes to enter and share the information.

Liberty/ Helmsman does not charge for integration, use, or support of this API. The cost to our customer depends on their system, available technical resources, and decision to handle in-house or hire a vendor.
System of choice
Customers must have a system to enter and store the data they send to Liberty/ Helmsman via API.
Integration with this API empowers you to tailor user experience. When entering claims from your system of choice, you can control what is entered and have a record of what was provided at First Notice of Loss. Keep in mind, it is important to understand the information needed to report a claim and train users on how to enter claims in the system of choice.
Integration with this API generally takes days to weeks, depending on your system, available technical resources, and prioritization of the work. You will work closely with your technical team or chosen RMIS or integration vendor to ensure the timeline and data quality meets your expectations.
Reporting claims through the API is a secure and safe method for several reasons.
